Decommission of historic satellite dish

Smithbridge Guam was contracted by Hawaii Pacific Telly Port to decommission this satellite communications dish on a remote part of the island after many years of service. The Smithbridge crane crew used a GMK 4100 with full counterweight, 2 truck and trailers an 80ft manlift and a 6-ton telly handler to complete this project

The dish was built in the 1960s and was used to communicate with China when President Nixon visited the region for the first time, along with many other communications over the years between the mainland and other countries.
